Truth be told, maybe it was a good idea signing Vick. The Birds sure are getting a bunch of attention this preseason, and if you look at them on paper, they haven’t been really good since 2004. They show flashes of brilliance, and have periods of good workmanlike play, but overall, no champion caliber efforts on a week-in/ week-out basis.

By far the biggest news of the new NFL season is the signing of Michael Vick by the Philadelphia Eagles. Let's face it Michael Vick is not going to be a starting QB in the upcoming football season. The Philadelphia Eagles need Michael Vick. August 15, 2009 will go down in NFL history as the day that former Virginia Tech star and Atlanta Falcons All-Pro Micheal Vick stepped on a practice field for the first time since the 2006 season.
