The Jets' search for a new head coach is gaining steam.
The team interviewed Giants defensive coordinator and current assistants Brian Schottenheimer and Bill Callahan, and Cardinals offensive line coach Russ Grimm is scheduled to interview for the position Thursday.
General manager Mike Tannenbaum conducted the first three interviews with owner Woody Johnson out of the country.

--One of the many people hanging on Brett Favre's decision of whether to retire is Kellen Clemens, who was competing for the starting job in August until the Jets acquired Favre.
"We'll see how things shake out next year," Clemens said. "People have been guessing on Brett Favre's future for the last four or five years and have been wrong most of the time. We'll see.

Veteran QB Brett Favre has begun his annual retirement/unretirement dance, only with a different partner, the New York Jets. The Jets would like him to decide before the NFL Combine in February, so that they will know if they need to find a starting QB for 2009.
Favre has said he will make a decision more quickly than he did in 2008, although he certainly must be waiting to find out who will be the team's new head coach.
